We cater to your every need from sweating or stretching in the studio, to keeping your spine fit and healthy in our world class chiropractic clinic. Powerhouse is a state of the art facility that combines a hands-on approach with advanced fitness technology to bring you a truly unique experience that suits any lifestyle. Our virtual integration allows you to manage your own classes online as well as gain access to nutritional information, at home workouts and meditations if you can’t make the time to come in studio. Our timetable also features virtual classes to ensure you can still attend class no matter how busy your day is looking.

SOME OF OUR FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

  • It’s my first time, where do I start?

    We know your first time can be scary, so let us take care of you!

    Our Beginner classes are tailored to the pilates and yoga novice, by taking the time to go through foundations slowly to ensure you feel comfortable moving forward. Although this is a Beginner level class, feel no pressure to move to a higher level class until you feel ready and confident.

    We want you to be in control of your health so we leave it up to you to manage your classes through our easy online booking system.

    To book into a class you’ll need to:

    1. Find a class you’d like to book into through our Timetable
    2. Select Book
    3. If you have an existing Mindbody account you can use this to login, if not select Create Account
    4. Follow the prompts to book and pay for your class

    Remember: Arrive 10-15 mins early to your first class so we can ensure you feel comfortable around the studio and ensure you bring a towel, water bottle and socks.

  • Can I lose weight with Pilates?

    Pilates combines a high intensity workout with strength and stability to ensure that you are not only burning through calories but strengthening and toning from head to toe. This workout will have your heart racing and sweating in no time.

  • What is the difference between Pilates and Barre?

    Pilates and Barre use the same foundations and are both used to strengthen and tone the body. At Powerhouse, our Barre classes are focused particularly on toning the lower body and core while our Pilates are a full body workout.

  • I have injuries, can I do Yoga and Pilates?

    Both Yoga and Pilates are low-impact classes that use flexibility and stability to strengthen joints and muscles. We have found that many of our clients actually have improvements in long term injuries after consistently participating in both Yoga and Pilates.

  • How often should I come to class?

    As often as you can! It is great to mix up your classes by incorporating both Yoga and Pilates into your weekly routine. The more often and consistent you can come to class, the quicker you will see results.
  • I have Pilates and Yoga DVDs at home, would it be better for me to come to class?

    There is a wealth of fantastic knowledge available, and being able to do at-home workouts can be very time-effective and more comfortable. However both Pilates and Yoga require a good understanding of technique to incorporate dynamic movement with correct posture during your workout. A qualified instructor will be able to help you find the ideal style of class for your body as well as provide live technique corrections to ensure you are always safe during your workout.
  • Where can I find out your class times?

    We are proud to offer over 25 classes per week ranging from early morning to later in the evening, there is something to suit every schedule.

  • What do I need to know about memberships?

    Our memberships are a way to create consistency within your schedule and ensure you are remaining on track with your goals. We ask that you give us 3 months to help make this happen so we have included a 3 month minimum term on all our contracted memberships. We understand that life happens and sometimes you need to focus on other things, so all our memberships can be put on hold for a minimum of one week. As much we would hate to see you leave, if you do need to cancel your membership, our cancellation policy requires 2 weeks written notice to terminate your contract with us. If you have any questions about which membership option works best for you.
